SQ2 Alpine Gaiters
The SQ2 Alpine Gaiter incorporates the patent pending Contrail™ Bootstrap. Fully replaceable and constructed of high-strength Dyneema® rope, the Contrail™ Bootstrap is unlike anything else on the market. With a pin-less buckle, 3-Layer Ripstop Hydrashield™ upper, a durable X-Pac™ lower and a unique calf adjustment system for a perfect fit, this gaiter is sure to be the last you will ever need to buy.
The patent pending Contrail™ Bootstrap system incorporates ultra high strength Dyneema® rope, a pinless heavy-duty aluminum buckle and a unique nylon webbing adjustment design. The Dyneema® rope has a breaking strength of 1,600 pounds, is extremely cut-resistant and has the wear resistance of steel. This combination yields unprecedented durability in a fully replaceable bootstrap that will likely never need replacing.
Using a “V” webbing attachment on the instep of the gaiter, the tension of the bootstrap is spread wider on the gaiter and moves the bar tacks from the high wear center area of the instep. This increases both attachment strength and wear resistance.
The SQ2 Gaiter has a Velcro® adjustment design that allows the gaiter to be sized to the exact circumference of the calf. This creates a tight fit that can be adjusted with the number of layers worn. The nylon webbing strap at the top of the gaiter utilizes and integrated elastic portion which provides constant tension and a proper seal throughout your range of motion, keeping snow and debris out of the gaiter. Add a waterproof breathable upper and double layer X-Pac™ waterproof lower and you have durable weatherproof protection.
